The Basque Country is a region that spans borders and is one of the oldest communities in Europe, located in northern Spain and southwestern France and straddling the Pyrenees. Basque culture has always emphasized innovation, while retaining strong cultural roots.
Did you know? Basque, or Euskara, was once a language on the brink of extinction and is now spoken by around a million people around the world. Spanish is the other official language of the Basque Country.
Basque A1 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), is the very first level of learning the Basque language. It focuses on enabling learners to communicate in simple, everyday situations using basic vocabulary and grammar. A1 level allows you to introduce yourself, ask and answer basic questions, and manage in common situations like ordering food or asking for directions.
